The Research paper

The Research paper wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. The amount of writing is usually the hard part For me because I’m lazy. But what i wish i knew about it was how hard it was to write a paragraph about single topic without repeating what you already said before. I sometimes struggled to not repeat myself so i could get a full paragraph. I just needed more things to talk about per paragraph.

Blog post 3: What I learned on the Illuminati

The Illuminati was an 18th-century secret society made up of numerous influential intellectuals and freethinkers of the time. The Illuminati grew quickly, gaining some 2,000 members from countries throughout Europe, including France, Poland, Hungary and Italy. They sought to “enlighten” people and free them from prejudices and superstitions. The Illuminati opposed churches control over since and supported women’s education and treated them as equals. The Illuminati was created by Adam Weishaupt in 1776 who was the chairman of canon law and later the dean of the faculty of law at the University of Ingolstadt in Bavaria. I chose the Illuminati as my topic because i already knew about them but didn’t know what they did.

blog post 2

On my essay I was supposed to pick two ads similar ads and compare them. I’m not sure how long it was supposed to be but i made to paragraphs comparing car ads. I talked about how the ads targeted different audiences even though their selling the same thing. One of the ads talked about nature while the other talked about speed. I think I did good on the essay but i lost the graphic organizer so hopefully I didn’t miss questions.

My writing assignment

I don’t consider myself a writer, I just write when I’m texting someone. For example if your talking to someone about picking up groceries is it writing? when you have work in English class to do is the only time I write. What I end up writing is about whatever my assignment is and right now i’m writing about writing for a blog assignment.  This blog assignment is supposed to be 2 paragraphs

I have to write a blog about writing when I don’t really write that much. I don’t use social media like Instagram or twitter that much and when I do I usually don’t post. So apart from school I don’t write at all. This assignment is giving me some experience on writing about writing. This helped to open my eyes about how little i write outside of school.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
